What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Lead – Material Handling position at GKN Automotive?
Job Description
- Provide daily staffing, overtime staffing, rotation, scheduling direction and decisions, including coverage for breaks, meetings etc…
- Preform daily meetings with your reporting team.
- Facilitate team start of shift meeting and end of shift review meeting for assigned areas and participate in other site communication meetings as necessary.
- Inform team of priorities, coordinate resource and staffing needs for team and with other areas.
- Insure daily layered audits are preformed.
- Communicate with incoming shift/outgoing team leader ensuring standard information is accurate and up to date.
- Identify shift priorities and resource constraints. Coordinate resource and staffing needs with other teams.
- Ensure issues affecting the team are reported to team coach and other team leads on each shift.
- Input information concerning problems to team coach via email or other communication method as necessary.
- Provide input to employee performance reviews and support development of team members.
- Create and maintain a team atmosphere by coaching, recognizing rewarding and providing constructive feedback to team.
- Create and / or review accident reports for members in warehouse.
- Address and escalate concerns that impact delivery and line production.
- Note any 5S, quality, production issues. Checks pull sheets for accuracy and completion.
- Report on the status of production line(s), cell(s) as appropriate.
- Create an audit adherence to standard work amongst team leaders.
- Develop and manage skill matrix and coordinate as necessary.
- Provide guidance and training of safety, work instructions and logistic policies.
- Perform and assist team coach with disciplinary actions.
- Ensure all GKN policies and guidelines are being followed
- Experience in an ISO9000 or QS9000 Environment is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and Organizational skills
- Computer Skills (Email, Excel, Word etc…)
