What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Coordinator - Maintenance position at GKN Sinter Metals?
Summary: Perform all recordkeeping of preventive maintenance systems and inventory control of machine repair components, as well as other clerical duties associated with maintaining a computerized preventive maintenance program. Maintain administrative checkbooks to ensure budget compliance.
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Essential Functions:
·Maintain inventory of machine components at prescribed levels. Create purchase requisitions and track purchased items through the order system including identity upon receipt, update of inventory records, label, and storage.
·Perform all inventory control functions of machine components: locate components, reference OEM number with GKN part number, inventory catalogs by machine, track inventory usage by machine. Review inventory reports as needed.
·Conduct weekly physical inventory of consumables to include lubricants and chemicals for production and create PO’s for needed items. Assist Safety department with inventory of PPE.
·Receive and manage parts inventory. Development and maintain tool crib arrangement and outside storage locations.
·Work closely with purchasing to coordinate “common” inventory parts between all plants. Act as liaison to 3rd parties (Stellar and other GKN plants) for common inventory of spare parts for optimal levels.
·Manage checkbooks and balance sheet. Regularly review unresolved list for outstanding PO.
· Develop and maintain computerized preventive maintenance program. Generate P.M. and A.M. sheets on each piece of equipment, generate scheduled PM/AM forms to be completed, track compliance and document findings. Complete annual reviews of documents and make updates as required. Work with Production Scheduling personnel to schedule P.M. work on equipment and machines.
·Perform clerical work for Maintenance Supervisor and Lead to include SOP development for EAM system, data collection, predictive and preventive maintenance reports, recordkeeping and file maintenance (AM/PM, regulatory (ISO/IATF, fire alarm, permit compliance).
·Assist with consolidation of all departments’ tooling and repair components (engineering component requests, production/setup tooling component inventory.)
· Work with outside repair sources to expedite machine repairs and acquisition of parts.
· Serve as point of contact for building services (gases, snowplowing, landscaping) and create purchase orders for contracted services.
·Follow established HSE Procedures and Guidelines, ensuring that one’s actions do not place themselves, others or the environment at risk and will counsel others they see working otherwise.
Qualifications:
·Completion of high school or equivalent education, including accurate math skills and MS Office proficiency.
·High degree of accuracy in data entry and keyboarding skills.
·Previous inventory control and/or purchasing experience preferred.
·Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
·Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, communicate in a clear, concise manner and work independently once familiar with duties and responsibilities.
Physical Requirements: Excellent coordination, repetitive use of hands for simple grasping. The ability to lift at least 40 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, kneel and climb to perform daily tasks. Good vision and depth perception.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a shop and office setting with exposure to dust, dirt, heat and metal particles. Exposure to manufacturing plant environment will be required to retrieve components for storage in Maintenance area, perform inventory and identification of machine components. Personal protective equipment required when in production areas.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
