Accountant

GL Career Placement seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage key general ledger accounts, process accounts payable, and support financial audits for a manufacturing company in Morgan Hill, CA. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, participating in month-end closing activities, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Job Details:

Salary Range: $72,000 - $96,000 annually

Location: Morgan Hill, CA

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and sub-ledgers.
• Administer the company’s P-Card program and ensure compliance with policies.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash accounts and credit card payables.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closings.

Accounts Payable:

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable for assigned vendors.
• Resolve discrepancies between invoices, credit memos, and purchase orders.
• Build positive relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Process weekly payments and reconcile vendor statements.

Audit and Compliance Support:

• Assist with external audits by providing required documentation.
• Help develop and document business processes and internal controls.

Month-End and Year-End Activities:

• Support accurate and timely financial reporting during closing processes.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 3 years of general ledger or related accounting experience.
• CPA certification or audit experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing accounting is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Sage, Cognos, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a bonus.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Primarily sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
