Senior Accounting Analyst

GL Staffing is seeking for a Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, ensuring the accuracy of monthly close processes, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in general ledger (GL) management, monthly close processes, and financial reporting.

Location: West Palm Beach, FL (On-Site)

Salary: 85k - 90k a year

Responsibilities: Sr Accounting

Monthly Close & General Ledger:

• Oversee and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve any issues in a timely manner.
• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper coding and supporting documentation.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company policies and GAAP standards.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights into performance and areas for improvement.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting procedures and policies to ensure best practices.

Budgets & Forecasting:

• Support the preparation and tracking of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments to assess financial performance and provide actionable recommendations.

Audit & Tax:

• Assist with the preparation of year-end audits and tax filings.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records in preparation for audits.

Team Leadership:

• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and professional development opportunities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial expertise and support as needed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Sr Accounting

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree in Accounting or related field preferred).

Experience: Sr Accounting

• 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead accounting role.
• Proven experience with monthly close processes, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
• Previous experience in the construction, manufacturing, or home services industries is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.

Skills & Competencies: Sr Accounting

• Advanced proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff in an accounting department.
