What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Lead Teacher (Toddler) - Full-time position at Glacial Community YMCA?
The YMCA is a leading non-profit organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
We are looking for an energetic teacher to add to our Toddler team. This team of two will work together, sharing responsibility of basic care for up to 8 toddlers (age 12-24 months) in a safe, fun, nurturing environment.
Schedule: 6:45AM-5:45PM
- Monday-Wednesday, Friday
- Off Thursday
- No Weekends
- No Holidays
Position Responsibilities:
- Design & implement lesson plans incorporating art, music, language, math concepts, and play into all aspects of the day.
- Communicate with parents on a daily basis, both in person and in writing
- Maintain licensing standards as they apply to your position and classroom.
Certification Requirements: To be obtained within 90 days
- CPR, AED, First Aid
- Child Abuse Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazard Communication
- Early Childhood Certification
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Proof of High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum Registry Level 6 preferred
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Knowledge of licensing, Young Star, and NAC accreditation preferred
- Attend at least 9 of 12 monthly staff meetings per year
- Obtain 25 hours or more of continuing education per year.
Physical Demands:
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position including sitting on the floor, walking, standing, reaching, and lifting 30 pounds. Individuals in this position may be subject to all elements of weather and loud facilities.
