Summary
The Credit Analyst 1 is responsible for assisting in and underwriting commercial loan requests. This role is responsible for analyzing business and personal financial statements, credit reports, and other financial data to assess the risk of new and existing commercial loans. The analyst will work closely with Loan Officers, Portfolio Managers, and other departments to prepare credit requests and portfolio compliance reviews.
The starting compensation pay for this position is $30.41 to $37.20 per hour. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes commercial loan requests including, but not limited to, real estate, construction, commercial and industrial, SBA loans, municipal/government, and non-profit.
- Prepares financial statement analysis and analyzes related materials including accounts receivable and payable, information from credit bureaus, and industry related websites.
- Assists commercial Loan Officer and other Credit Analyst in preparing loan presentation for review by the Chief Credit Officer.
- Performance financial analysis on existing commercial loans to ensure compliance with lending terms, covenants, and regulatory requirements.
- Understands and applies the bank’s policies and procedures and underwrites all loan requests in compliance with them.
- Leads or assists with credit administration projects and tasks.
- Performs job functions in compliance with all company policies, federal and state rules and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to, BSA/AML, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy rules.
- Support the communities the Bank services through volunteer opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or economics preferred
- Ability to read and understand individual and business tax returns, audited or reviewed financial statements, and company prepared profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows.
- Tech savvy, with a good familiarity of Microsoft Word and Excel; nCino experience is a plus.
- Ability to apply logical or critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough and timely manner.
- Ability to produce work within directed timeframe without compromising integrity or quality of work.
- Able to manage several tasks/projects simultaneously and effectively; demonstrates self-motivation and ability to follow through with tasks.
- Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; work to develop and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships; represent the Bank in a positive manner and maintain credibility with others.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
Specific lifting abilities required by this job include:Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
