Ensure the loan eligibility and evaluate customer creditworthiness based on their history and current finances before recommending for approval.
Real Estate Originating
- Evaluate customer needs and evaluate the appropriate Real Estate loan product.
- Price each loan to obtain rate of return defined by the strategic plan.
- Monitors loan portfolio to accurately identify risk and ensure asset quality. Maintains credit files with up-to-date financial information and collateral documentation. Identifies and appropriately documents problem loans, policy exceptions, and risk grade changes.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline through relationship development to meet production goals.
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with borrowing customers.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Business Development
- Participate in business development efforts through building and maintaining relationships with realtors, contractors, and other industry professionals.
- Proactively identify referral opportunities. Maintains a strong internal network to facilitate a smooth referral hand off.
- Meet referral goals as identified in the Strategic Plan.
About You
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Working knowledge of lending practices.
- Knowledge of Valley Bank products/services to effectively present appropriate solutions to customers
- Ability to maintain professionalism with disgruntled customers
- Work quickly and accurately using various applications.
- Knowledge of structure loans that deviate from the normal process.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience.
- 3-4 years Real Estate lending.
