What are the responsibilities and job description for the Self-Storage Property Manager position at Glacier Park Storage?
About us
As a family-owned and operated small business, Glacier Park Storage has been serving the moving and storing needs of families in Frederick, Colorado, and its surrounding areas since 2011. Start your career with us and join a team of hard-working individuals who have been pursuing excellence in the self-storage and moving industry for nearly three decades.
Overall, we are searching for a Self-Storage Property Manager with an A customer service attitude, the ability to effectively work independently on a day-to-day basis, and who can communicate/work well with all of our company-wide teams. Our newest teammate is someone who thrives by being self-driven throughout periods of slow foot-traffic and multitasking when the pace picks up. The Property Manager takes pride in their work and spares no attention to detail. Technology is their friend and boosts productivity rather than hinders it. If this sounds like you, we highly encourage you to consider applying for this position!
The Perks
Our success is your success. We value recognizing the time and hard work put into fulfilling the responsibilities of this position. Here’s how we do that:
- In addition to a competitive hourly wage, your success in upselling retail and completing U-Haul rentals and reservations is rewarded with a supplemental commission.
- Once your schedule is set, it would be atypical to see a schedule change - this maintains consistency and in-office expectations. Time with your loved ones, or some good old quality “me” time is highly valued among us, so working more than 40 hours per week is rare.
- We care about your health, which is why we offer health insurance and up to 48 hours of paid sick leave for when the going gets tough.
- Your future is important to us, so one of the benefits of working with our company is having a 401k option with up to a 4% matching contribution.
- Major holidays should be spent relaxing or doing whatever you love to do with your time off, not in the office. Our team members can enjoy those days even more knowing that they will still be compensated.
- Long-term team members can enjoy up to 80 hours of paid time off outside of the holidays for personal days or that awesome vacation they’ve been planning for months.
Your Responsibilities
As the Property Manager, your primary mission is to provide a space and an experience that your customers can look back on and say, “That was the easiest part of this entire process.” A big part of that mission includes your day-to-day responsibilities:
- You are the principal point of contact for our current, future, and returning self-storage and U-Haul patrons. Moves of any nature are stressful; it is your duty to have an open ear and a creative mind to recommend solutions to meet their moving and storage needs.
- Tending to and communicating with our existing tenants to collect future and past due rent, selling merchandise, and assisting with any questions they might have.
- When it comes to U-Haul, you are expected to aid our patrons in creating reservations and completing their rentals. The equipment we dispatch and receive must be cleaned appropriately and occasionally require basic maintenance.
- A significant aspect of this position requires putting your listening skills and salesmanship abilities to work each time you speak with prospective tenants. Each storage inquiry must be treated with the utmost importance and enthusiasm.
- In our efforts to provide an inviting space for our team members and patrons, you are expected to perform essential facility maintenance (i.e., general facility cleanliness, organizing and upkeeping storage unit cleanliness and functionality, performing minor repairs, landscaping tasks, etc.). You are responsible for communicating with and arranging vendors for maintenance and/or repairs beyond the scope of what can be done in-house.
Our Requirements
To be seriously considered for this role, you must have:
- Scheduling: Ability to work weekends, including a half-day on Sundays
- Education: At least a High School degree or its equivalent
- Sales & Customer Service Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service & sales role
- Personality: We are looking for someone outgoing, who can relate to people from all walks of life, and who is a team-player but can also work well alone. If you’re the type of person who values accountability and has an open ear for constructive feedback, you’d be a good fit!

- Type at least 60 words per minute
- Possess a natural ability to learn new technology and use it to boost productivity
