What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Marketing Coordinator position at GLAD?
The Development Marketing Coordinator will support GLAD Law’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts through compelling storytelling, targeted communications, and data management. This role will leverage events, social media, email campaigns, and other digital tools to build relationships with donors and new audiences while ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with GLAD Law’s mission and values.
This position is hybrid eligible, requiring some in-person work at GLAD Law’s Boston office and attendance at events.
Responsibilities
Digital Fundraising and Storytelling
- Use social media platforms to share impact-driven content and engage audiences for fundraising campaigns.
- Source and create compelling content that showcases GLAD Law’s work and mission to inspire donations and participation.
- Target new prospect audiences through events, digital strategies, and print communications.
- Collaborate on the creation and organization of event fundraising materials and collateral.
- Support engagement efforts for fundraising events by providing content and logistical support.
Donor Stewardship and Engagement
- Steward relationships with key donor groups, including new donors, sustainers, major donors, legacy givers, emerging leaders, and social media followers.
- Share targeted updates and impact stories with GLAD Law ambassadors, including Board members, the Development Committee, event host committees, and staff.
- Draft and distribute email invitations, event reminders, and other related communications.
- Create and maintain event pages on GLAD Law’s website and social media platforms.
- Coordinate mailings including appeal letters, postcards, and save-the-dates.
Data Management
- Manage list-building and list-pulling responsibilities for targeted communications.
Ensure accurate segmentation and targeting of donor and prospect groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field a plus. A degree is not required; we value relevant work experience and skills. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and nontraditional career paths are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills
- Strong writing and content creation skills for fundraising and impact storytelling.
- Ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences, including donors, prospects, and community members.
- Proficiency in email marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot, MCAE, Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies for nonprofit fundraising.
- Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit) for outreach.
- Familiarity with donor management or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.

Compensation:
$55,000 $7,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits including three weeks of paid vacation, four floating personal days, fully paid individual health and dental insurance, and disability insurance. This position non-exempt, and hybrid eligible.
