A well-established estate planning, probate, administration, and litigation law firm in Boca Raton, FL is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to support its team of attorneys. This is a full-time, in-office position ideal for someone with a strong understanding of legal procedures and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including document preparation and proofreading
- Draft, edit, and file legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Monitor and manage court dockets and deadlines
- Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, client meetings, and court dates
- Maintain and organize attorney calendars and ensure all deadlines are met
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Assist in case management, including document collection and organization
- Perform general clerical tasks such as scanning, filing, and handling phone/email correspondence
- Prepare case files and materials for court and client meetings
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary, preferably in estate planning, probate, or litigation
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Familiarity with court procedures, e-filing, and document management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Clio or other legal case management software is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle confidential matters with discretion
