Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic care to patients across various settings, including pediatrics, geriatrics, acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and clinics. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their daily living skills.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized care plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic activities and exercises.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and home exercises.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols during all patient interactions.
Experience
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to occupational therapy practices.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including pediatrics and geriatrics, is preferred.
- Familiarity with occupational health principles and practices is a plus.
- Previous experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings is advantageous but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for helping others achieve their rehabilitation goals.
