Job Summary:
The Transportation Division Manager will be responsible for overseeing a fleet of company drivers and subcontractors, ensuring the efficient execution of services for both internal and external customers. This includes coordinating and scheduling the timely and cost-effective pick-up and delivery of loads, maintaining a high standard of customer service, and ensuring drivers adhere to safety protocols and company policies, as well as state and federal regulations. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Fleet and Asset Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and manage subordinate staff, including supervisors, coordinators, dispatchers, and drivers.
- Maintain ongoing communication with both internal and external customers.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and high-quality employees within the division.
- Optimize fleet efficiencies through strategic planning and execution while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maximize profitability through operational excellence, asset utilization, and effective cost control measures.
- Manage and support internal and external reporting requirements, including compiling, maintaining, and filing necessary reports and documents.
- Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner, fostering the reputation of the Fleet and Asset Management team.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, promoting employee growth and development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5 years of experience in logistics and/or transportation.
- BA or BS degree preferred.
- Experience in construction trucking preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office.
