We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trusts & Estates Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration, providing critical support to attorneys and clients. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and strong communication with clients, financial institutions, and court personnel.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist attorneys in drafting estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Manage trust administration and estate settlement, including asset inventory, funding of trusts, and distributions to beneficiaries.
- Prepare probate court filings, petitions, and accountings for estate administration.
- Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with state and federal estate laws.
- Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies to gather and process necessary documentation.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of estate tax returns (Forms 706, 709, and 1041).
- Maintain case files, calendars, and deadlines to ensure timely filings and compliance.
- Coordinate with financial advisors, accountants, and fiduciaries regarding estate administration matters.
