What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at Gladwin Machinery Solutions?
Well established distributor of metal fabrication machinery is seeking a highly qualified individual with solid technical attributes to join our service team to work on hydraulic press brakes, shears, sawing equipment, plasma cutters and lasers.
Our brands are widely recognized as industry leading backed up with the best showrooms and service organization in the industry. We are only interested in individuals looking for a long-term opportunity.
Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented and willing to work both in the field and occasionally in our Kansas City warehouse. The field service would include new machine installations and training plus service on customer’s existing machinery. In house service would consist of reconditioning our used machinery and prepare them for sale.

Requirements / Responsibilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to follow through is required because professional communication with customers and coworkers is essential to success in this role.
- Problem solving skills.
- Detail oriented with proven mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems/devices, as well as CNC controls, programming, and associated hardware.
- Understanding of PLCs, I/O and logic.
- Ability to install, configure, and test software.
- Knowledge of electrical and control systems, with ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Inspect and assemble per drawings and specifications.
- Hands-on approach to troubleshooting, diagnosing to solving technical issues.
- Strong awareness of safety.
- Knowledge of reading electrical prints and assembly schematics is preferred, however we are willing to train in this area.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, and on solo projects.
- Microsoft Office experience helpful.
