Production Supervisor – Night shift

Southwest Cheese is the world’s largest manufacture of cheese and whey products and is located in Clovis, New Mexico. It is a joint venture between Glanbia and The Greater Southwest Agency and provides ample opportunity for career growth and experience in a fast-paced, high-performing enterprise.

The Opportunity - This position directs and coordinates activities of whey production areas in processing raw materials and manufacturing customer specific products . This permanent position will report to the Production Manager and essential functions include but are not limited to the following.

• Shift Leadership: Oversee the entire operation of your shift, ensuring adherence to production schedules and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Team Meetings: Lead daily meetings focusing on safety, quality, and production.
• Quality Control: Conduct and record chemical checks, troubleshoot machinery issues, and create KPI reports.
• Team Management: Supervise and develop hourly employees in milk intake and cheese production, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety principles and food safety regulations (FSMA, SQF, FDA, PMO).
• Continuous Improvement: Utilize Continuous Improvement processes to drive zero losses and uphold our culture of excellence.
• Customer Focus: Engage proactively to support customer needs and strive to exceed SLA timelines.
• Performance Excellence: Meet or exceed key metrics and continually update your knowledge of products and processes.
  
  

  The Skills you will bring to the team

• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years related experience/training.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in computer skills including email, record keeping, and database activity.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of TPM and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly involves talking, listening, standing, walking, and using hands and fingers.
• Exposure to loud noise levels, humidity, intense heat, fumes, and toxic chemicals.
