About MWC:

MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select).

What you’ll do:

Install, diagnosis and repair industrial equipment. Monitor equipment and process functions to ensure they operate at designed efficiencies.

Every day, you can expect to:

• Be responsible for electrical mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
• Assist operators and maintenance employees in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Assist in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Repair and maintain machinery such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems and production machines and equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments.
• Work on the chemical pumps, valves and plumbing in the CIP kitchens.
• Dismantle devices to remove defective parts.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment.
• Analyze equipment failures, determines cause and makes necessary adjustments.
• Repair, maintain, replace, install and test electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
• Replace electric motor bearings and rewires motors. Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, to diagnose malfunction.
• Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables using electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices.
• Test electrical components.
• Utilize GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Glanbia non-negotiables.
• Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
• Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

To thrive in this role, you must have:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• A minimum of 1 year Electrical / Mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
• Desire to grow with the company.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

• Should be able to judge distances and spatial relationships.
