Job Title: Night Shift 640 Operator
Location: St. John’s, MI
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Schedule: 2-2-3 (Work 7 out of every 14 days)

Salary: $20.68 per hour

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Cheese Production Technician to oversee the operation of various machinery in the cheese production process. As part of our team, you will ensure quality packaging and maintain equipment to produce 640# cheese blocks in a safe, efficient, and organized manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Vacuum Sealer:

• Ensure vacuum pumps and sealers are working properly.
• Perform regular checks and maintenance on vacuum sealers and components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with sealing or jams.
• Log maintenance activities and maintain cleanliness in the area.

Boxmaker/Breakdown/640 Front End/640 Back End:

• Maintain operation of box-making equipment, including banding machines.
• Inspect boxes for quality and ensure there are no defects.
• Keep the production line stocked with boxes and handle machine breakdowns.

Fill Station:

• Calibrate scales and manage dry ice operations.
• Perform metal detector and magnet inspections to ensure product quality.
• Perform CIP (Clean-in-Place) tasks and general housekeeping duties.

Tube Liner Inserter:

• Insert blue tube liners and cheese cloths into boxes.
• Ensure liners are stocked and in good condition.

Plate Washer:

• Spray and scrub plates using proper cleaning solutions.
• Ensure all cleaning procedures are followed and logged.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify problems and solve them quickly.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with others to achieve company goals.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

• Physical Demands: The role involves standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work Environment: Exposure to loud noise, humidity, and mechanical moving parts. Safety gear and precautions will be provided.
