TITLE: Taylorville Quality Assurance Inspector

DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt Hourly

REPORTS TO: Taylorville QA Manager

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The starting hourly rate for Illinois based employees for this role is $18.00/hour.

Position Purpose

• Inspects for and promotes cGMP and SOP compliance in production and the warehouse. Reviews documents for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  
  

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Inspects the production/warehouse facility and personnel for cGMP and SOP compliance. Inspects work areas for cleanliness, organization, possible cross contamination issues, dress code, proper equipment and utensil use, storage, etc. Notifies proper personnel of non-compliance and follows up for correction.
• Inspects documentation for completion, accuracy and compliance with SOP’s. These include manufacturing log books, batch sheets, labels, etc.
• Sample all raw materials and food contact packaging per SOP.
• May assist in investigations of quality issues and provide back-up for Quality Technician when needed.
• Maintains a QA log book in the Taylorville facility for all daily notes and occurrences.
• Inspects and releases equipment for cleanliness prior to the manufacturing of products.
• Assists in employee training, including cGMP’s, SOP’s, HACCP, personal hygiene, dress code.
• Completes additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Minimum: High School Diploma, GED or Technical School Diploma with 0-2 years of inspection experience in a production facility.

• General Knowledge of the food manufacturing process.
• Ability to work with all levels of employees in a productive manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of cGMP regulations.
• Must be able to complete forms and write in a legible manner.
• Ability to multi-task and bring tasks to completion.
• Must be computer literate and able to learn how to use the company’s computer system.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Must be able to perform general math including percentages.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Problem solving abilities.

Training Requirements

• Sexual Harassment Prevention
• SOPs as required.
• On going cGMP training to stay current with all areas required by the company.
• Any other recommended/required training.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and walk about the building.
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
• May be required to use a pallet jack to move product about the building. May be required to use a forklift to down-stack pallets in the warehouse for sampling
• May be required to push and or pull carts with wheels containing product being moved about the building.
• Moderate physical effort required.
• Continuous mental and visual attention required.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and walk about the building.
• Regularly required to climb fixed stairs to access loading platforms.
• Regularly required to maintain balance while performing job tasks that may be in awkward bending and stretching positions.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Fine manual motor dexterity required to complete forms and other paperwork.
  
  

Personal Protective Equipment

• Lab coats/uniforms when on the production floor.
• Safety Glasses as needed/required
• Gloves as required.
• “Dust” masks as needed/required.
• Any other PPE as required/recommended.
  
  

Work Environment

• Works in an assembly facility with air borne particles.
