The Applications Engineer position is accountable for supporting the sales team of the company. Responsibilities include but are not limited to successfully designing, pricing, and processing company’s advanced solutions to customers within a timely fashion.
Responsibilities
- Review Request for Quotations (RFQ), Requests for Proposals (RFP) and validate company’s compliance with the requirements and/or provide comments and exceptions as needed
- Provide optimal client solutions by calculating, sizing, and selecting the appropriate technology and product, for either standalone or integrated system designs
- Author proposals working with engineering and the sales manager
- Develop a system Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and guide Engineering department in creating detailed general arrangement drawings to be sent with the proposal and/or to be used for cost estimation
- Prepare and submit submittal documents as part of the order fulfillment process
- Coordinate and conduct kickoff meetings for all new sales orders
- Collaborate with sales leadership, to develop and execute growth plans for key accounts that are linked to the organization’s market objectives and strategies
- Create positive and productive business relationships with company appointed independent sales organizations, customer accounts, and engineering firms
- Prepare product training and sales presentations to Company independent sales rep/distributors, engineering firms, and other customers as needed
- Gain a thorough knowledge of competitors, their products, and activities
- Handle customer inquiries as needed in a timely, courteous, and professional manner
- Actively search for improvements in the sales process for cost reduction, improved efficiencies, and higher safety and quality
- Up to 10% travel is required for trade shows and customer visits
- Maintain solid communications and relationships with customers and sales team
- Participate in training activities to improve customer understanding of the UV disinfection process and company products
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, project management, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with customers as well as at all levels of the organization
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities to meet required deadlines
- Software applications - Competence with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (MS Office), SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Consistently show patience and courtesy to customers; demonstrate diplomacy and ability to resolve sales and equipment related problems
Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year contingent on experience
