MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and no felony convictions.

THE PROCESS

Applicants must submit an application, pass an oral interview, a fitness test, psychological exam and a background check.

SALARY/BENEFITS

• The starting hourly rate is $26.19 per hour. Pay increases after 6 month and a year of service.
• There is a shift differential for nights and weekends of $2.25 per hour as well as education/ training pay incentives.
• Upon being hired there is a $2000 sign on bonus with an additional $2000 upon completion of probationary period of 1 year.
• Lateral transfers that are POST certified get a $3000 sign on bonus with an additional $3000 upon completion of a probationary period of 1 year.
• There are three options for health insurance: a single medical plan, in-lieu of benefits, or a health savings plan.
• All duty gear, uniforms, bullet proof vest and weapons are provided by the department.

Glasgow, Montana is considered by most to be the “Middle of Nowhere”. Built from a train station in 1887 Glasgow is the hub of law enforcement for Northeastern Montana. With tons of recreation within minutes of town, Glasgow is an outdoor paradise. Since we are a smaller department, the Glasgow Police Department affords officers the unique opportunity to perform all aspects of law enforcement.
