Glass Metal Craft (G MC) is a top glass fabricator in North America providing custom residential glass products and glass metal engineered architectural systems. G MC delivers glass products daily through the Midwest & Mid-Atlantic regions and has delivered custom glass metal engineered architectural systems nationally for over 25 years.
Glass Metal Craft needs an experienced Operations Department Manager to lead the Cutting Tempering Team. The responsibility includes two cutting processes and 2 tempering processes that fabricate various types of glass products for custom residential and commercial glass orders. The positions requires a high level of organization, urgency, and communication due to the dynamic nature of the business. Responsibilities for the twenty team members start with safety and include quality, scheduling, rate, and Team development.

Description of work:

Quality. What are expectations for cutting glass & tempering? Like any manufacturing process, there is a range and critical quality elements that are expected. How to train & control the variables to ensure consistency? More importantly, how to ensure the Team atmosphere is fostered to strengthen performance and consistency.
Performance = throughput. Lead times for orders vary and the nature of G MC’s work is custom orders. Each order is important regardless of size and complexity and glass if fragile. This role demands high energy to plan, schedule, and efficiently operate all 4 processes in concert to meet deliveries. Requires constant interaction with our Sales, other Operations Teams, and the Logistics staff.
Necessary to join the G MC Team:
Education. What have you learned and how have you used your education to achieve success? There is a need for a 4-year degree, preferably in business, supply chain, or engineering. Disciplined problem solving is essential.
Operations Management Experience and success. Proven record showing leadership skills that have developed a team based on honest feedback and disciplined planning, organizational success enabling on-time delivery performance for a multi-product business.

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
