The Glass Baron, Inc., a major giftware manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and motivated National Key Account Manager to oversee and develop business with existing and potential national account customers.
Requires building strategic customer partnerships, in-depth consumer/category expertise and thorough financial analysis to ensure national account customer’s expectations are exceeded. Close collaboration with Marketing to develop account specific sales/business plans and total integration with internal and customer departments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales across multiple trade channels in the consumer products industry to include Travel Plaza, Military, Specialty Gift, and Drug/Food retailers to be considered. Position will be based at company headquarters in Virginia Beach.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Account Management:
- Cultivate and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with existing key customers.
- Develop and achieve maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections for account served.
- Develop outstanding working relationships with personnel at various levels of accounts, including financial, buying sales, warehousing, delivery and data processing at headquarters and at store level.
- Ensure product distribution, proper inventory levels and use of special merchandising programs are developed and implemented.
- Ensure prompt and equitable disposition of customer issues or problems.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and presentation software; problem solver, well-developed organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with sales & marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless customer experience and to communicate customer feedback and trends.
- Sales Reporting: Track and report sales performance metrics, ensuring accurate forecasting, budgeting, account, and program analysis.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration or related field plus 10 years of key account sales experience required.
- Must have experience in trade spending management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with customers and functional groups.
- Demonstrated aptitude to effectively analyze, assess & interpret market trends, complex sales data, and other information sources to develop customer-specific plans & options, make strategic decisions, and drive results.
- Proven ability to conduct sales planning, forecasting and strategic execution.
- Travel will be required for customer meetings and trade shows
