Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates in the capacity of a [Special Education Teacher This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties :
TITLE : Special Education Elementary School Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's Degree required.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a State of NJ Certification : (1001) Elementary School Teacher in Grades K - 5 and (2475) Students with Disabilities Certification
Demonstrated knowledge of special education regulations (Federal and State) and current trends / research in the field for accelerated achievement of students with disabilities. Ability to use technology, (laptops, desktops, specialized assessment, and data analysis software). Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Demonstrated ability to work effectively engage diverse parents / guardians with varied communication styles, levels of skill and experience to support their child's education experience. Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners. Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and, and / or Power Point preferred)
REPORTS TO : Principal
JOB GOAL / MAJOR FUNCTIONS :
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing specialized academic services directly to the students as well as collaborating with their parents and the IEP team regarding implementation of the Individual Education Plan. The employee will deliver effective academic instruction in line with school approved academic curriculum, state standards and student IEPs.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
This is a ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EVALUATION :
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
