Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates in the capacity of Maintenance. This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties :
TITLE : Maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS : High School diploma or equivalent. High degree of skill in plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning. Maintain a valid NJ State Motor Vehicle license. Should have a Black Seal Low Pressure license. An electrical license and / or Plumbing license is preferred. Should be available to work overtime or willingness to have a flexible work hour and or day / schedule, on an as needed basis.
REPORTS TO : Supervisor of Maintenance and Grounds
JOB GOAL / MAJOR FUNCTIONS :
To help ensure the safety and cleanliness for students and staff on school grounds through routine inspections, repairs and keeping areas clean at all times.
- Maintain and care for all District Facilities.
- General maintenance, construction, and repairs to District Facilities.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area, and utilize personal safety equipment.
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of pipes, drains and plumbing fixtures in District Facilities.
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe condition of lighting fixtures, electrical apparatus, fixtures, wiring, air conditioning and refrigeration units and similar electric elements in District Facilities.
- Assume primary responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of all hearing and air conditioning apparatus to include all H.V.A.C equipment and boilers.
- Respond to building alarm calls, or any additional emergency type repairs, after hours as needed.
- Maintain, repair, and operate tools in a safe manner.
- Complete individual jobs and written work order requests, as assigned / needed.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor of Maintenance and Grounds.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
This is a twelve (12) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EVALUATION :
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
