About the Position

Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Food Services Assistant II for our in-house cafeteria located at our Leader Heights office in York, PA. 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares food and beverage items in the prescribed manner, including following recipe instructions.
• Portions food accurately and serves in attractive way.    
• Maintains cafeteria and kitchen equipment in an orderly, clean and sanitary condition.
• Clears plates, loads and unloads dishwasher and washes pots and pans.
• Stores perishable and non-perishable items appropriately.
• Operates various types of food preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Performs table service.
• Performs incidental onsite catering as needed.
• Identifies food items and other supplies to be purchased by checking inventory prior to ordering, reviews with order with supervisor, and places order in a timely manner.
• Assists in preparing food and assuming cooking responsibilities as needed.
• Assists the Food Services Supervisor in related duties as required.   

What We’re Looking For 

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in commercial or institutional food preparation and sanitation or prior experience as a Food Services Assistant I.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain state food safety certification within 6 months of date of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to safely utilize all kitchen and food preparation tools.
• Ability to provide food service in a pleasant and accommodating manner, and perform several simultaneous tasks effectively.
• Ability to read, write and follow both verbal and written instructions, including recipes.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with co-workers and all other personnel.
• Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
