Ophthalmology practice seeking a Surgical Coordinator with administrative assistant responsibilities to help in various aspects of a growing practice.
Applicant should possess quality customer service and communication skills, be highly organized, and have great attention to detail.
The Surgery Scheduler/administrative assistant is responsible for the following:
- Coordination of surgeries and procedures for patients
- This includes obtaining authorizations, scheduling with hospitals and surgery centers and scheduling follow-up appointments as necessary
- Review insurance and patient financial responsibility with patient
- Obtains prior authorizations for surgical procedures
- Verifies insurance and establishes payment agreements when needed
- Must have great computer and software skills, including Excel.
- Medical Office experience is preferred, but not required.
- Assist the front office and other practice departments as assigned
Work hours
- Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm,
- Friday 8am-1pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $1.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
