Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Construction financial concepts and accounting principles, along with proficiency in data entry and financial software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Accounts receivable; follow up on payment status as directed by Controller.
- Set up projects in our accounting system (currently Procontractor) upon award. Request Insurance as mandated by the specific project requirements.
- Submit 20 Day Lien Notices for new projects awarded.
- Lien Management – Track and request vendor Release Management for payment processing.
- Request and manage Insurance Certificates for new projects and for subcontractors.
- Complete Credit Applications for New Vendors and update as requested by current vendors.
- Complete Prequalification Packets as requested for bidding purposes. Update current Prequalifications as requested by current General Contractors to remain compliant annually.
- File documents in Master Files as they pertain to your scope of work and responsibilities.
- Answer emails as they pertain to your scope of work and responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned by the Controller and Payroll Administrator.

- Accounting experience practical 1yr

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel software
- Proficient in accounting principles with the ability to be trained in Procontractor by Viewpoint software.
- Viewpoint accounting software experience a plus
- High School education; Associate degree a plus
Location
- This position is an in-person position. It is not a remote position.
- Must have the ability to maintain regular attendance.
Hours
- 30 to 32 hours per week. Monday thru Thursday with Friday off each week.
