THE MISSION
The Teacher is expected to:
- Instruct preschool-aged students, following curricula or lesson plans, in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
- Teach and supervise children in child development center(s) to ensure appropriate skills, knowledge, and behaviors are learned.
- Arrange childcare or educational settings to ensure physical safety of children.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
A SNAPSHOT OF EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:
- Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Develop teaching plans for children, write a weekly lesson plan and review plans with the Center Coordinator.
- Document all classrooms activities; monitor the progress of children continually.
- Prepare reports detailing student activities or performance.
- Meet with parents on a regular basis, counsel behavior problems.
- Evaluate student work and maintain student records.
- Collaborate with other teaching professionals to develop educational programs.
- Plan field trips and outdoor activities, coordinate arrangements.
- Drive and deliver assigned children to and from Center.
- Attend training sessions or professional meetings to develop or maintain professional knowledge.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Center Coordinator.
