What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waiter/Waitress position at Glen Arden CCRC?
GENERAL DUTIES:
This important “front-of-the-house” position strives to understand the needs of the resident guests, properly prepares themselves and the Dining Room for meal service, and executes correct behavior and technical skills.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare and maintain assigned workstation throughout shift; including linens, silverware, glassware, china, salt and pepper shakers, candles, flowers, and all other needed service equipment.
2. Respond immediately to resident guests’ questions and concerns regarding menu items and meal service, and follow-up on problems and requests.
3. Use proper tone of voice and facial expressions in demonstrating respect and paying attention to the resident guest.
4. Describe menu items, specials, substitutions, and place meal orders with the kitchen.
5. Always maintain a professional appearance. Wear clean, wrinkle-free uniforms and clean shoes which are in good condition.
6. Practice “Do’s and Don’ts of Decorum” as outlines in Dining Room Service Training Manual.
7. Practice correct technical and behavior skills as outlined in Dining Room Service Training Manual.
8. When directed clear and reset tables immediately when vacated. Always maintain standard table appearance.
9. Attend all Service Review and Orientation Meetings and implement meal service according to information received at the meetings.
10. Complete all side work as assigned, to the satisfaction of the Dining Room Manager prior to clocking out.
11. Adhere to posted work schedule and report to work at scheduled times.
