Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House Glen Cove, NY 11542 (serving ages 6 - 18 years old), a non-profit youth organization.
Currently accepting applicants from local geographical area only. Applicants who meet requirements will be considered.
Required Hours: 40 hours/ week (full-time). Monday - Friday, 11am-7pm / 12pm-8pm
Director of Programs and Professional Development: Experience with Youth and Teens in a childcare setting is a must. Responsible for overseeing the delivery of overall Childcare and Teen Programs, such as Education, Technology, The Arts, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, Health & Life Skills, and Character & Leadership Development. Lead, train, and manage a cohesive team of full-time and part-time youth development professionals. Oversee Club-wide Special Events for youth and families.
- Plan and oversee the administration of Club programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.
- Contribute to the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan.
- Establish program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
- Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.
- Oversee program operations, grant deliverables & reporting, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance evaluation
- Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of programs/activities and received instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.
- Demonstrate leadership to assure conduct, safety, and development of all members.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify program needs and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and supervise a team of program staff, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor program outcomes and evaluate effectiveness through data analysis and reporting.
- Develop and maintain relations with parents of youth participants in the after-school program.
- Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events.
Experience
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience in a related field – Childhood, Adolescence Education or similar
- A minimum of five years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar – supervising a team, planning and evaluating activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. English speaking required. Spanish a plus .
- Strong skills in use of current technology and information management systems.
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics, and guidance and discipline
- Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities (strong time management, highly organized, attention to detail)
