We are seeking a technology enthusiast to provide a structured and engaging After-school computer science and STEM programs for youth and teens. Responsible for introducing youth to skills and resources through interesting, enjoyable activities that ignite their interest. Ensure all young people a chance to build the technical skills needed for the modern-day workplace.
Expose members to educational opportunities and use of technology through music making, photography, video, etc. Individual must have ability to create and facilitate daily lesson plans and activities.
Experience and/or interest in engaging youth and teens in Music Making and Digital Arts Competitions (BGCA).
Responsibilities and Additional:
- Rate of Pay, based on experience/skill.
- Available Mon.-Fri., 2:30-7:00pm (Sept.-June) and 9:30am-3:00pm (July-Aug)
- Motivate and maintain the interest of students while setting a positive example.
- Engage a group of 15-20 members in a curriculum exploring technology tools for project-based learning.
- Assist in Club-wide facilitation of Annual National Youth Outcomes Survey
- Design and facilitate curriculum based on the use of National BGCA programs and activities (digital arts; including photo illustration, movie/music-making)
- Coordinate technology-based field trips (virtual, onsite), special events, show cases and other activities.
- Experience in Robotics, a Plus
- Technical experience through related coursework to convey program materials, maintain software and troubleshoot minor technical issues
- Attending College or degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
Experience
- working with children, in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Patient, self-motivated; organized with exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Required proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Print Shop, as well as other software programs that would enhance a youth development technology lab

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
