About the Position
The Glen Ellyn Public Library seeks an enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service. Duties include providing reference and readers’ advisory at the Adult Department service desk using a variety of print and digital resources; assisting our members with eBook, Internet, computer, and printing/copying tasks; collection maintenance; and light research. Other duties include creating displays, assisting with programming, passport acceptance, and voter registration. Candidates should have an appreciation for the printed word and embrace technological innovation. Adaptability and a sense of humor a plus!
Hours: Part-time, averaging 12-16 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and may include daytime, evening and weekend days by rotation. Additional fill-in hours as needed may be available.
Qualifications
MLIS/MLIS from an ALA accredited school or demonstrated equivalent, plus a passion for reading and helping others discover new books, genres and formats.
