Founded in 1890, Glen-Gery Corporation is one of the nation’s largest brick manufacturers and operates eight brick manufacturing facilities. The primary function of a laborer is to work on a variety of tasks involving physical labor that may include working with materials, building orders, loading and unloading trucks, working with inventory, and keeping work areas clean and safe.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below:
- Build orders based on customer requests, ensuring materials and quantities are correct.
- Provide service to customers by retrieving and loading product, answering questions, and displaying proper attitude.
- Experience with operating a forklift.
- Staging materials and supplies to be loaded onto delivery trucks.
- Unload semi and preparing outgoing orders; put away inventory.
- Set-up and clean-up of the work area each day.
- Follow OSHA rules and regulations.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A minimum of 1-2 years working in a manual environment.
- An understanding of proper ways to load trucks and secure materials.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Knowledge of various materials used on the job.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Good communication skills.
- Problem solving.
Education/Experience:
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating a fork truck.
