Position Summary:
The Glen Ivy Guest Programming Instructor is responsible for nurturing the experience of all Glen Ivy guests and in particular those they provide services to, from the initial greeting to the warm farewell. Position Qualification Requirements –
Certification(s): Primary Group Instructor Certification, First Aid/CPR
Schedule: Class schedules vary from 10:30am-4:30pm Monday through Sunday. Must be flexible and able to work a variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Qualifications::
- Must be able to teach three or more of the following formats (with a minimum of 1 year teaching experience in each format):
- Aqua Fitness
- Aqua Tone
- Taichi
- Qijong
- Hatha Yoga
- Yin Yoga
- Gentle Yoga
- Mat Pilates
- Some high school, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 1 year of previous experience as a fitness/yoga instructor
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and time management.
- Candidate must possess certifications for aqua fitness training
- Excellent guest service skills and will be responsible for ensuring a quality guest experience.
- Candidate must have completed a yoga instructor program.
- Projects a professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust.
- Comfortable interfacing with a diverse group of individuals
- Ability to deal effectively with emergency situations involving injuries
- Knowledge of basic exercise science as it applies to Aquatic Fitness
- Knowledge of a variety of activities and teaching methods.
- Preferred Additional Skills
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Assist guests and members with exercise equipment.
- Assist in leading and coordinating activities or classes.
- Maintain general cleanliness of the fitness class areas before and after classes.
- Start class on time and provide an experience that aligns with the Glen Ivy standards
