Glen Oaks was previously named the #1 golf course in the State of Iowa by Golf Digest. The clubhouse, golf course and residential community is situated on 532 acres of land. Assists Clubhouse Manager and Director of Events in coordinating and directing clubhouse activities through ongoing education, training, utilization of resources and good business standards to provide world-class service to Glen Oaks Members and Guests.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serves as Ala Carte Dining Room Manager, Pool Service Manager and Events Manager.
- Hires, trains and supervises all service staff alongside fellow ACMs.
- Flexible, long hours are required, as well as holidays and weekends; reliability and attendance are vital to this position.
- Communicate with the Clubhouse Manager, Director of Events and Event Coordinator all Member dining experiences to help promote the best possible service.
- Works on service staff job descriptions and updates, including 30/60/90-day reviews as well as annual performance reviews.
- Responsible for comprehensive operational manuals of procedures and duties of service staff including safety and sanitation.
- Promotes high morale and enthusiasm among staff.
- Implements and directs consistent, professional food and beverage service standards and always leads by example.
- Helps plan, develop and implement department policies and goals.
- Responsible for maintaining proper scheduling levels, ensuring club success in daily service and in concert with budgetary goals.
- Responsible for meeting budgetary goals in beverage, labor and expenses as shown in the Club’s annual budget.
- Provides a high level of cooperation and communication with all allied Departments of the Club.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- An associate degree or BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in the hospitality industry with strong communication and guest relations skills.
- Previous management experience in a Restaurant, Hotel or Club in Food and Beverage, Banquet, or Catering preferred.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands and fingers to feel, handle or carry. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; to climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises from 10-80 staff members.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- In the absence of the Clubhouse Manager and Director of Events, carries out delegated organization responsibilities.
