What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Control/Employee Health Nurse position at Glen Rose Medical Center?
The Infection Control Practitioner is a qualified individual with knowledge of CDC guidelines and definitions of nosocomial infections, TJC standards, federal and state regulations and principles of infection control hospital wide. Is responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of healthcare acquired infections (HAIs) among patients and personnel. Is responsible for providing/assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control.
The Employee Health Nurse develops, implements, and manages employee health programs to promote the health, safety, and well-being of all staff. This role includes administering health screenings, immunizations, and care for work-related injuries, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines. The Employee Health Nurse acts as a resource for health-related matters, provides education, and maintains detailed health records to support a safe and healthy workplace environment.
Responsible for participation in the trauma performance improvement program, compliance with Texas Department of Health Trauma system requirement for Level IV facility, and maintenance of the Trauma Registry.
Performs all job functions in accordance with Glen Rose Medical Center’s Policies and Procedures and Vision/Mission Statement. Works in conjunction with the Emergency Room Manager.Additional Training Include: Education through AIPC, Trauma Registrar, OSHA, CDCPerforms all job functions in accordance with Glen Rose Medical center’s policies and procedures and vision/mission statements. State reporting to multiple entities to keep in compliance with OSHA, CDC guidelines, Joint Commission standards, and the Trauma Registries. Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
The RN reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (C.N.O.).

Pay: $37.00 - $45.00 per hour
