Position Summary:
The Director oversees social services and meaningful life at GlenFields Living with Care. This position is responsible to implement, supervise, and evaluate all activity programming designed to meet the individual’s current interests, choices, preferences, and abilities. These programs should be holistic in nature and include physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and recreational activities. The director shifts the focus from traditional activity programming and calendars to a focus on supporting life to happen in GlenFields.
The director is responsible for the oversight of social services and staff including the process of admitting and discharging residents and providing collaborative direction for a comprehensive social service program.
Education and Experience:
- Eligible for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or as an Activities Professional recognized by an accrediting body or
- Has 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full time in a therapeutic activity program.
- Must possess current certification as a Nursing Assistant/Registered and be listed on the Minnesota Board of Nursing - Nursing Assistant Registry or willing to obtain to be certified within 3 months of employment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Collaborates, communicates, and works effectively with others.
- Must be creative, organized, and flexible in working different hours to meet the department and resident needs.
- Valid Minnesota driver’s license (equivalent to MN Class D). Personal driving record must be free of moving violations and be approved by GRH insurance company.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation decisions are made based off of several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification and licensure as well as internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of their salary range.
Salary Range: $50,440 to $70,616
