Shift: Varies, depending on preceptor schedule
Schedule: 8 and/or 12-hour Shifts depending on preceptor schedule
Weekend Rotation: Every other or every third, depending on preceptor schedule
Duration: 10 to 11-week commitment (mid-May through mid-August 2025, dependent on candidate school schedule
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of an RN, precepted interns will be allowed to perform those tasks/duties with which they have become familiar (via theory) and performed (via clinical) thus far during their nursing education. The nurse intern will work with a defined preceptor in learning to work with a multidisciplinary team caring for patients while performing specific nursing procedures that are allowed are identified through an orientation process.
Program Objectives:
During this internship, the student will:
- Utilize the nursing process to provide safe patient care.
- Enhance prioritization, organization and time management skills in the delivery of nursing care.
- Complete assessments, reports and collect data in a timely manner, communicating to appropriate clinical staff.
- Accurately document patient care consistent with Glencoe Regional Health protocol.
- Enhance communication skills with patients, families, coworkers and other members of the health care team.
- Demonstrate accountability for nursing actions consistent with professional standards and development.
Education and Experience:
Only active BSN nursing students who are enrolled in an academic program that are between their junior and senior year of college are eligible. Student must be in good standing in their nursing program.

Schedule:
This role will mirror assigned RN preceptor schedule that may include 8 and/or 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays. Any exceptions or special circumstances to this schedule should be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation decisions are made based off of several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification and licensure as well as internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of their hourly range.
Hourly Range: $22.65 to $31.69
