Job Details
A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ICU nurse for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience.
Job Requirements
Hold an active BLS certification.
Hold an active ACLS certification.
Hold an active NIHSS certification.
Hold an active California License.
Schedule Information
Contract length : 13 weeks.
Shifts : 12 hr shifts - 7 AM to 7 PM.
Weekend Requirement : every other weekend.
Holidays : Work them in with permanent staff rotation.
Additional Details
COVID Vaccine Required (Certification).
Unit : ICU / CCU.
beds : 12 beds CCU or 12 bed ICU.
Ratios : 1 to 1 or 1 to 2.
EMR : Meditech.
Charge Nurse : Yes - no patient assign.
Nurse Aides : No.
Scrub Color : Navy.
Tele / Monitor Techs : GE - they do have a monitor tech if census is high enough, RN's read and interpret strips.
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : No - All independent physicians.
IV Team : No.
RT 24 / 7 : yes.
Pharmacy 24 / 7 : yes.
Floating : All staff will float between ICU and CCU and possibly tele (1 to 4).
Floor specific orientation : 2-3 shifts on unit, can give them one shift of orientation on tele if needed, if they want to float to ER they will give them 3 shifts of orientation in the ER.
Common diagnosis / Types of patients : ICU - sepsis, CHF, COPD, vented, no CRRT CCU- balloon pumps, post cath, open heart, lobectomies, thrombectomies that have gone bad, spinals (1 to 1 for first 6 hours).
Travelers cannot take any open heart or balloon pumps; EOW First to Float.
