Job Responsibilities:
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable payments and reconciliation.
• Post daily deposits, petty cash, and other accounting transactions.
• Aid in preparation of floor plan audits and account reconciliation.
• Handle title work, including customer trade-ins and payoffs.
• Post reserve statements, funding notices, rebates, and incentives.
• Reconcile accounting schedules and statements.
• Perform general administrative duties for the accounting department.
• Process vehicle titles for new, used, and wholesale vehicles.
• Stay updated on current DMV regulations and ensure compliance with title and licensing requirements.
• Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments.
• Assist with cashiering duties as needed.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or business administration is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in office administration, with preference given to experience in automotive accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive financial data with discretion.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Must pass a background check.
Additional Beneficial Skills:
• Knowledge of automotive dealership operations and related software. (Dealertrack)
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
• Basic understanding of state and federal tax laws as they relate to vehicle sales and title transactions.
• Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak periods.
• Familiarity with vehicle registration and licensing processes.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
