What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education Specialist: Preschool (Itinerant) position at Glenn County Office Of Education?
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver a multi-dimensional education program appropriate to student’s needs and ages (academic, social, emotional, physical, vocational, life skills)
Deliver intervention services to special education and general education in various
Plan, assess, and implement IEP Plans/Programs
Coordinate and lead student-centered Individualized Education/Transition Planning (as appropriate)
Demonstrate competency in diagnostic and perspective techniques
Utilize communication skills with students, parents, staff, and interagency partners to maximize student success
Collaborates with school personnel, and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and/or student aides for the purpose of providing an effective school program and addressing the needs of individual students.
Instructs students for the purpose of improving their success in academic, interpersonal and daily living skills through a defined course of study.
Prepares teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress.
Participates in various meetings (e.g. conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
Valid Special Education Teaching Credential or ability to enter internship program
Experience with special populations;
Experience with current teaching and learning methodology;
Ability to collaborate with a variety of partners;
Background in school wide intervention strategies;
Understanding use of data to drive instruction.
