Job Qualifications:

Skills: Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reports. Ability to prepare
reports and draft professional business correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to
work independently. Ability to possess strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain the confidentiality
of student records. Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills. Ability to communicate effectively
with students, families, school staff, and the community. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in
all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to possess strong
computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and various integrated applications.
Work Experience: Three years of accounting/bookkeeping or related experience is required. Experience
in a school setting preferred.
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for maintaining financial records for all funds received by or assigned to the
school and providing the school administration with accurate and timely financial information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare and maintain all financial documents for the school.
2. Reconcile and balance all general fund accounts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local
Board of Education agencies.
3. Verify and deposit all school funds in a timely manner.
4. Receipt collections into appropriate accounts for the school and distribute resulting receipts to
appropriate school personnel.
5. Review local check requests for proper documentation and availability of funds and process
approved vendor invoices for payment in a timely manner.
6. Process reports for the Principal to review and submit reports to the financial team.
7. Process and distribute monthly reports for review by club sponsors and department chairs.
8. Review monthly budget reports for accuracy and process bi-annual budget amendments as needed.
9. Facilitate data gathering for year-end reporting and annual audits.
10. Communicate accounting processes to school staff, including receipting and purchasing, to ensure
compliance with school accounting procedures.
11. Prepare reports for school administration and organize and maintain files for all school funds.
12. Process approved cost center expenditures determining the appropriate spending mechanism based
on the goods/services to be obtained.
13. Work with the Principal and leadership team in developing the cost center budget.
14. Assist the Principal in processing and preparing reports including, but not limited to, free lunch
applications, student insurance, staff appraisals, and teacher leave certificates of illness.
15. Prepare monthly payroll reports on teachers and substitutes.
16. Send copies and receiving slips to the Board office.
17. Maintain a record of money allocated to teachers for requisitions.
18. Serve as the financial liaison between the school and other district departments.
19. Participate in staff development/training programs to increase skills and proficiency as related to
job assignments.
20. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not,

board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the
efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

Salary : $32,228 - $43,376
