Position Summary
Reporting to the ReStore Manage, the Lead Driver is responsible for the pick-up, loading and delivery of donations from corporations and individuals in the ReStore 18’ box truck. This role will work closely with the ReStore retail team to load and unload merchandise onto the showroom floor. Success in this role requires safe driving history, demonstrated success working independently and as a team with acute attention to detail.
This role can be full-time or part-time and individuals must be willing to work on Saturdays.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Engage donors in a professional and courteous manor being mindful of their property and space when picking up and loading donated items
- Operate donation truck and/or Habitat vehicles in a safe, lawful, and courteous manner
- Responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior cleanliness of Habitat vehicles
- Complete daily maintenance/safety checks of Habitat vehicles to ensure safety and readiness of truck and equipment
- Responsible for reporting all vehicle maintenance concerns to the ReStore Manager in a timely manor
- Load and unload collected donations into the showroom ensuring safety protocols are followed and collected donations do not get separated
- Assist with donation processing, recycling, and miscellaneous Restore needs
What You Must Bring to This Role
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience - desired
- Valid driver’s license with an impeccable driving record free from traffic violations - required
- Prior experience driving commercial vehicles - required
- Prior experience safely moving heavy objects using dollies and other provided tools - required
- Commitment to operate safely and effectively - required
- Prior retail merchandising or warehouse experience - desired
- A history of attention to detail and commitment to "doing things right the first time" - required
- Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining customer facing relationships - required
- Proven success working independently and as a team - required
- Proven comfort maintaining poise and patience - required

Working Conditions & Physical Efforts
- Ability & willingness to travel/”be on the road” within designated territory 95% of the time
- This role requires moderate physical effort and has moderate exposure to physical risk
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, to move and handle boxes of merchandise, furniture, and fixtures over varied terrain including stairs and through doorways
- This role requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds, assisted
- Work is performed driving a vehicle and in a warehouse/showroom environment, including inclement weather
- Intellectually intense, fasted paced and often changing environment
- Visual functions being those of near vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with leadership, staff and donors
- Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment
