We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Auto Loan Underwriter/Funder to join our team in Charlotte, NC.

Position Summary:

The Auto Loan Underwriter/Funder will be responsible for the comprehensive underwriting and funding of indirect auto loans. This role involves evaluating loan applications, making informed credit decisions, negotiating terms with dealership partners, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all loan documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of auto loan processes, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities:

• Underwrite, decision, negotiate, and capture auto loan deals submitted by indirect lending partners.
• Thoroughly review Retail Installment Contracts and accompanying loan packets for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to funding.
• Conduct pre-funding interviews with customers as needed to verify information and ensure loan validity.
• Perform administrative follow-up tasks, including title/DMV work and other clerical duties, to support the efficient operation of the team.
• Maintain strong communication and build effective relationships with dealership personnel.
• Utilize investigative skills to review in-house loan documents and uphold established standards for validity and confidence.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve departmental goals and maintain a positive work environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in multitasking and managing workload in a timely and organized manner.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in auto loan underwriting is required.
• Basic understanding of auto loan Retail Installment Contracts and related documentation.
• Proven negotiation and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with dealerships.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in reviewing and processing auto loan documents.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working within a team atmosphere and contributing to a collaborative environment.
• Strong investigative skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and validity of loan documents.
• Minimum basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with DMV title work is a desired qualification, but not required.
