Golf Maintenance (Part-Time, Seasonal)

JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks, including mowing, raking, pruning, turf repairs, irrigation repairs, drainage construction, landscaping, and seasonal duties.
JOB DUTIES TO INCLUDE
- Performs general mowing using walk mowing units on all playing surfaces
- Performs bunker maintenance – raking, weeding, and edging
- Use of string trimmers, back pack blowers, and push mowers
- Assists with golf course construction projects
- Cleans the interiors of buildings thoroughly (sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms, etc.)
- Performs all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, etc.)
- Completes landscaping activities (urban forestry, planting, mowing, raking, chipping, etc.)
- Performs set-up and tear-down for programs and special events
- Maintains all tools, equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems as necessary
- Routinely inspects clubhouse and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, etc.)
- Identifies and repairs or reports any failures or hazards
QUALIFICATIONS
The best applicants will be reliable and at least 16 years of age or older and currently enrolled in either high school or college preferred. No prior experience in golf course maintenance is needed, but must have a desire to learn more about golf course maintenance. Work schedules are flexible and ability to perform medium duty work required. Valid IL Driver’s License required. Illinois turf pesticide applicators license a plus.
SCHEDULING & PAY
This is a part-time, seasonal hourly (non-exempt) position working Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday or Sunday 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and is subject to change with seasonal requirements. Additional availability required for possible overtime, special events and weather-related duties. Target hiring range is $17/hour-$18/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
