Seeking a PRN COTA to fill in for full-time staff when they are on vacation or out sick; would need to report to work at least once in a 90-day period to remain active on staff.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and acute care environments. The COTA will assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals through therapeutic activities and interventions that promote independence in daily living activities (ADLs).
Duties
Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve their physical and cognitive abilities.
Provide direct patient care in various settings such as skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, pediatrics, and inpatient environments.
Monitor patient progress and document outcomes in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, goals, and strategies for enhancing functional independence.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning.
Qualifications
Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
Knowledge of physiology, occupational health principles, and best practices in patient care.
Experience working in skilled nursing facilities, acute care settings, or outpatient clinics is preferred.
Familiarity with pediatric therapy techniques is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and professionalism while providing care.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends.
Experience with PCC (Point, Click, Care) is a plus
