POSITION SUMMARY & OBJECTIVES:
The Annual Giving Director will strategically develop, plan, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive full-cycle Annual Giving Program, including the coordination and oversight of supporting initiatives to increase participation and long-term financial growth from individual donors. The Director will successfully organize and develop direct mail/email solicitations, online giving including social media, phone/mail/personal visitation, legacy and volunteer engagement, and a monthly giving program, all focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support. The Annual Giving Director has a keen appreciation for the foundation of annual giving as the enabling component of a successful major and planned giving program.
Essential Functions:
Develop and Lead the Annual Giving Strategy:
- Design and implement a comprehensive individual giving program that aligns with Glenwood Academy’s fundraising goals and objectives. This includes setting targets, timelines, and identifying key initiatives and opportunities.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring regular communications, follow-up calls, letters, meetings, and engagement. Implement effective stewardship practices to retain current donors, increase participation in our planned giving program, and convert prospects.
Campaign Management:
- Oversee the planning and execution of annual fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, emails, and social media. Collaborate with marketing to create compelling campaign materials in conjunction with giving campaigns.
Prospect Research and Strategy Development:
- Work closely on strategies for individual prospects to determine potential gift amounts and collaborative activities. This includes facilitating fundraising calls and meetings to enhance our individual donor base, annual fund, and planned giving program.
Volunteer Recruitment and Management:
- Responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers to support the academy’s needs as well as fundraising events.
Associate Board:
- Oversee the revival of the Glenwood Academy Associate Board. In conjunction with the Development Associate, strategically plan to cultivate and retain new Associate Board members with an overall goal of reaching a younger audience, increasing awareness about Glenwood Academy, and hosting smaller-scale fundraising events.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in trainings and in-service programs as designated by administration.
- Attend designated Glenwood Academy events, programs, and meetings which may require off-site travel.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising or development, with a proven track record of successful annual giving campaigns. Experience in a leadership role is highly desired.
- Skills:
- Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or similar donor management software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
