Primary Function
The primary function of the Athletic Club Attendant is to monitor inventory to ensure linens are stocked and available. Maintain the cleanliness of the Athletic Club complex in a safe, clean and attractive condition. Help maintain the flow of the clean linens for the Club, while operating safely and efficiently.
Reporting and Accountability
The Athletic Club Attendant reports to, and is directly accountable to the Athletic Club Director. In the Athletic Club Director’s absence, Athletic Club attendants report to the Athletic Club Receptionist or Manager on Duty.
Authority
The Athletic Club Attendant has the support and authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description and other responsibilities of the Athletic Club, as assigned by the Athletic Club Director and/or Supervisory team.
Physical Requirements
- Adequate physical agility to perform the cleaning and laundry duties in the GHS Athletic Club.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to push and pull up to 60 lbs. frequently.
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist and squat frequently.
- Ability to communicate and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to stand entire shift (not including scheduled breaks).
- Ability to reach overhead and into laundry and drying machines.
Other Requirements
- Prefer one or more years’ experience in laundry/housekeeping or in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to perform all laundry and Athletic Club tasks at or above standards.
Work Hours and Days
The nature of hospitality often requires working non-standard hours and days. Athletic Club attendants must be flexible and available to assure coverage including weekends and holidays.
The Athletic Club schedule is a weekly rotating schedule with varying hours and assignments with the needs of the business coming first.
