Glenwood has an excellent opportunity to become a part of our staff as a Lifeguard. The Lifeguard will provide supervision, planning and delivery of activities to all of Glenwood’s waterfront areas that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the individuals' and staff's abilities.
Shift: Monday- Friday 10 am-3 pm (May- Aug)
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Waterfront areas include Glenwood (canoe/tubing) and the pool
- Maintain all waterfront equipment
- Assist in the implementation of staff training on waterfront safety and responsibilities
- Evaluate aquatic abilities of individuals and staff
- Survey the waterfront daily and keep the areas free of hazards and debris
- Participate enthusiastically in all program areas serving as a positive role model and mentor through your attitude and behavior
- Create a fun and rewarding environment by maintaining the well-being and safety of the individuals and staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, and personable as to create an engaging atmosphere
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Must have the ability to observe individuals and staff behavior to assess appropriate behavior management techniques
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environment or hazard incidents
- Demonstrate sound problem-solving techniques
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- Certified Lifeguard (Providing Certification Training)
- Must meet all background screens required by the agency, including but not limited to drug screen, AFI/FBI fingerprint, Child Abuse Neglect Registry, Term Track, Criminal Background, and required driving record.
