POSITION SUMMARY
The director of med surg is responsible for management of a nursing unit 24 hour per day, 7 days per week. Responsibilities include evaluating the performance of staff nurses, providing feedback and mentoring, developing education programs, contributing to staff professional development, interviewing and hiring nurses and medical staff, developing departmental budgets, and maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
On the job training in the use of computer.
Prefer a minimum of three years satisfactory experience as a staff nurse.
Management experience preferred.
BLS required upon hire.
